Staying active at home

Being in Quarantine really made us think about so many things differently and we really got serious about staying fit, in our minds as well as in our bodies. Meditation became even more of a priority and exercise was right up there with it. We hired a personal trainer and we worked hard for 16 weeks! As a mom of three girls under the age of 5, I know how hard it can be to get a work out in. Trust me. I became diligent about getting my time in, not only for myself because getting a sweat in really puts me in a good mood, but also to show my girls that hard work and dedication can really pay off. They see mommy working out every day and sometimes even join in!

We’re not working with our personal trainer anymore, but we now have the proper tools that we need to continue on that path. If you’re able to hire a personal trainer I recommend it 100%. Ours was amazing and even has an app that he sends you your plan on and it’s very easy and helpful. You can find him HERE.

Other programs I’ve used and recommend are:

  • Peloton – I love doing runs and meditations on this app, but they have other great workouts on it too.
  • OpenFit – I do a barre or pilates class on this app almost every day.
  • Tone it Up – This app is very motivating to get my workouts in! I also love their protein powders and protein bars. You can find them on their site or at Target.

These apps have free trials that you can sign up for before committing to the monthly payment. That’s what I did before falling in love with each of them!

I’ve also found it helpful to actually dress like I’m going to the gym. If you know me, you know that I don’t like to feel frumpy so I always get ready for the day in the morning, no matter what I’m doing. Here are some of my favorite workout pieces:Crystal Levy
