Timing is everything …

Here we are, the day before the Mayan calendar runs out and the apparent apocalypse happens… Or not. Some people think this just means that an awakening of sorts is going to happen and has been happening…. Others are stocking up for the possible zombie attack. I’m going with the flow.

Timing is everything. From your alarm clock going off at a certain time to leaving those 5 extra minutes early to miss the traffic or even having lunch with an old friend at just the right time in your lives only to fall in love with each other at first sight. I don’t believe in coincidences or accidents. I believe that the universe has a plan and I’m just along for the ride. Of course I make my own choices and everything has its consequence however, being in tune with myself and with my spirit helps me realize that I am exactly where I need to be to get to where I need to go.

The movie “Sliding Doors” is a great example. **SPOILER ALERT** It’s a “what if” story with Gwyneth Paltrow and it shows how her life would have turned out had she caught the train home after getting fired one day and simultaneously showing what would have happened had she missed that same train. The one that caught the train found her man in bed with another woman, told him to screw himself and after a certain amount of time basically met the man she was meant to spend her life with. The one that missed the train encountered difficulty in getting home and just missed the other woman leaving her apartment. She goes about her life not knowing any better… she has her suspicions, however; true to cheater form, he makes her think she’s crazy and picks fights with her only to take the attention away from the truth…..until one day she finds out (as we all do sooner or later) and then tells him to screw himself (etc) and eventually meets the man she’s meant to spend her life with (same guy). In both instances she had lessons to learn and life to live but nothing that happened was an accident. It took having a dysfunctional and abusive relationship for her to really know and understand what she wanted and deserved in her life and what she for damn sure didn’t. It happened exactly the way it was supposed to so that her spirit, love and happiness would survive and she could be stronger and better for herself and for the love of her life. Clearly I’m a romantic … And this is one of my favorite movies. 🙂

This year has been packed with life lessons and talking to someone yesterday about that, we came to the conclusion that the “end of the world” for us represents the end of the world and life that we knew. We’re now able to let go of the past and continue to be in the present. The timing couldn’t be better. 2013 is going to be an incredible and life changing year.
